Have been receiving spam email. Some have my name in the subject line. I've not opened/clicked on them & have sent to spam folder.
Am now receiving 100+ a day & only realised in last couple of days definite link to google searches.
It's a secondary address with TalkTalk - not the one I use for financial stuff etc.
1) I've set up a third e-mail address & in process of unsubscribing from legitimate senders in the 2nd one & intend to cancel it when that's done.
2) Run malwarebytes - no problem.
3) Downloaded/run adwcleaner - deleted 'HKCU/Software/AppDataLow/Software/adawarebp' Key
4) Had Chrome and Firefox - deleted Chrome - both using Google search engine.
This hasn't solved anything. My concern is the spam/google search link and if it will start again from my new third email address.
Any help/suggestions please?

What add-ons does your browser have active?

When you do a google search are you definitely at google - what's the google URL?

    Thanks for the response paulstar.
I can't now check the URL as have since done a system recovery back to Windows8, thinking this would be best way to ensure browsers/search engine/print driver download are completely deleted, and upgraded to Windows 10. For now I'm not going to download anything and use the default browser.
Although I'm still receiving the spam, I haven't noticed a link with searches again - so far.
  • Do you download your emails into say Microsoft Outlook or are you using web based email. In either case can you get onto the web server to set up spam rules to block them before you even get to see them?
