Hi I bought some items from the boots sale on my credit card. I went to have a look online on my account and nothing has been recorders not even in the pending transactions which it would on my debit card.

How long do I have to wait for it to appear on my account. I bank with Halifax

Was it chip&pin or contactless..chip&pin transactions normally appear pretty much straight away. Contactless and Apple pay transactions may take a day or two longer to appear on the account.

For Chip&PIN transactions, the available credit will fall by the amount of the purchase pretty much straight away. For contactless this will not happen.

The transaction should then appear 2 to 3 working days later.

Halifax credit cards do not itemise pending transactions like they do with their debit cards.

The thing you need to be looking for is has your available credit to spend gone down according to your boots purchase? If it has then do not worry the boots transaction will appear in pending, unbilled and eventually in your balance within 10 days of the transaction.

If the boots transaction has not lowered your available credit then it means the boots has not processed the transaction yet.

They have 6 years (or 5 in Scotland) to claim the money, and it's generally agreed that in the first 6 months they can take the money from your card at any time without advising you - after that they should tell you that they intend to take it.
