carphone warehouse free phone with £10 credit

I tried to buy a samsung E1200 free with free next day delivery which was essential so i'm not without a mobile [lost my charger but i made sure to order with a few days of battery left].

Got an email saying order delayed and they'd be in touch- 4 days later and no contact and now i have no mobile.

Extremely peeved off, i'm wondering if i need to go to town and buy something in the next few days and then this phone finally arrives can i refuse delivery and get my money back or return it?

Technically speaking am i returning the phone or the credit since the phone was free? Because i think they have a policy of no returns on phone credit?

Thank you.

They're asking me to call them now apparently because my card address is different to my uni term time address i may be a terrorist or involved in fraud.

I guess amazon and the dozens of other online stores i have ordered from without issue just don't care about our security.

I wonder what they expect me to use to call them since they haven't delivered my mobile.

Going to email them for a refund and tell them to forget it.

Could it be that it was out with your normal shopping habits? Or perhaps just a blanket policy they have given they'll also ship £600 phones and I imagine chargebacks are easier to defend if you ship to the card address rather than another address.

While it might be annoying, I'm sure you can appreciate that these measures are taken for a reason - and one day you might be glad for them if anyone ever tries to commit fraud using your details/card.

When you placed your order you were asked for a delivery address and billing address.

The billing address should be the address where your card is registered.

Presumably you gave them a wrong address, so it's not surprising they're suspicious of you.
