Best new current acc without switching

I want to take advantage of banks price war but don't want to switch as am happy with current bank. It allows paying at local village PO and has high ethical score. So my questions is what accounts can I open and get an incentive payment (rather than high interest) without closing my old account? Salary will still go to old account but could transfer over £1000 from this account to new one and then back again each month. Struggling to work it out on my own! Thanks

If you want the switching payment you will need to switch an account, no nessicssarly you favourite one, but you will need to switch an account.
FirstDirect and Yorkshire are currently paying the highest switch bonus (I believe)0 -
I didn't remember if there is any bank give out bonus without switching.
All you need is open an "sacrificial" bank a/c, then switch to the bank you want.0 -
Clydesdale (and possibly Yorkshire) give access to the Post Office in a comparable way to Coop bank (who I assume your talking about)
Almost all of the other providers let people, at least, withdraw funds via the Post Office. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

So incentives are only available if switching, none for just opening an account as a new customer? That probably explains why I was struggling to find what I was looking for!0 -

Yes it is the coop bank. I'll look at Clydesdale, but my coop is linked to other accounts used for work and would be a bit of a headache to change, and to be honest I have been happy with their service.0 -
You don't need to switch you main account, I'm with Barclays and my salary and most DD's are from there, but I'm in the process of doing a sweep and claiming the rewards from most banks but having a multiple other accounts that just hop from bank to bank0
