Currently liking the look of the Sofa.com stuff. Looks like they have the solid beech frame which I've heard is recommended, and they have a lifetime guarantee on the frame. Might be making a visit next week then!

We have ordered an Alstons sofa from an independent shop in their sale and got a great deal. Interestingly we saw one we liked in SCS and when I questioned the salesman it turns out it is made by Alstons and they just change the name to a name that they choose! We got the exact same one for a few hundred cheaper from the independent shop.

They are built to last and the my should last you a for a very long time (even if they need recovering after say 10-15 years).

The showroom is great. No pushy salesmen, have a coffee and cake and take your time.

We got the Isla 3 seater sofa and love seat. Both very comfortable and even though I normally sit on the sofa as its in the main TV watching angle, I think the love seat is my favourite. It's in our bay window and so comfortable.
  • We got our sofa from Trade Secret - they sell returns from M&S, Next and other stores. We were very happy with their service. You have to take a day trip to Oxfordshire but it's well worth it for the saving!

Another vote for Multiyork from me, very solid. Worth looking on ebay as you can get some good bargins, also check the Multiyork website to see where your nearest clearence store is. We Live near the Bath store and have had some really good deals from the clearence section, the whole of the top floor of that store is ex-display / cancelled orders etc. Onlyba few of their stores have a clearance section.
  • A reasonable amount of JL furniture is made / sourced by Siren, and the quality is usually high. I've got a Siren sofa from a range that JL used to sell but discontinued before I had the cash to buy it, so I ended up getting it elsewhere. Very pleased with it, though as it's hollow fibre cushions they need "plumping up" occasionally..
