Switching current account - probably M&S or FD?

Hi All,
After countless years with Barclays, my wife is thinking of switching banks. She likes the look of M&S (regular customer there, and the "perks" appeal to her). I've been with First Direct for similarly countless years, and know how good they are.
She's not someone who regularly saves much, but nor is she ever overdrawn (or very, very rarely).
With this in mind, a bit of reading on MSE and elsewhere suggests M&S and FD are probably the best two choices.
But which would people lean towards given the choice? Or are we missing a 3rd option?
Would there be any potential benefit in both of us being with FD (eg applying for other FD products such as loans, mortgages etc)?

Assuming the perks you refer to is the £220 switching offer, it seems a no-brainer as they pay £70 more than FD.
To double the loot, you can switch as well.
Whether you want to have your accounts with the same bank is another question, as you might get stranded if they have availability problems. This can happen at any bank at any time.0 -
Yes M&S for sure....FD have been offering £150 for a while (after a short break back to £100) whereas who knows how long this enhanced M&S offer will lastMortgage (Nov 15): £79,950 | Mortgage (May 19): £71,754 | Mortgage (Sep 22): £0
Cashback sites: £900 | £30k in 2016: £30,300 (101%)0
