For the last 20 years my wife and I have shared a car and every 2 years have swapped over who insures the car with the other as a named driver. This has protected our no-claims bonus. I agree, swap over the cars rather than the policies. One change of vehicle at renewal, the other change of vehicle to coincide with the renewal date.
