thank you, I did think that was the case it just threw me how much extra heat comes from one 2Kw appliance compared to another.

As all electrical heaters(of any type) are 100% efficient, as stated above you will get EXACTLY the same total heat output, for the same running cost, from any heater.
The only difference is the manner of delivery. For instance a fan heater delivers almost instant heat but no residual heat, but an oil filled radiator is slower to deliver heat but has residual heat after power is switched off.0
