Garage won't give full refund

  • Hi macman, actually, as the fault developed during the warranty period and the garage took its time trying to fix it, yeah....I did think I would get my money back. I have obviously been naive, but hey, you live and learn.

With any refund under such a warranty you are entitled to the current value. It's not a 'new for old' warranty.

when i first got my scenic i used to buy my petrol at asda, after roughly 2 months my engine management light came on for no reason at all, then one day while talking to a fitter at work about this management light on my dash he asked me the same question "where do i buy my petrol from" asda i said, there you go thats your problem.
next fill up i went to esso garage and put in regular 95 grade fuel soon after a few days passed and the management light went out and never came back on, i have never bought asda petrol since.

Fact or fiction it worked for me. as for supermarket fuel your saving like 1p per litre as opposed to an esso or shell garage who sell cleaner petrol that does return a couple more miles per gallon, and is cleaner for your engine.

If your car was unable to handle asda fuel then your car has a fault!

Where you buy your fuel from is irrelevant, we don't even know the error that's coming up - it could be a million and one things!
Is as useful as me asking what colour it is

If you dont diagnose it properly you will never know. The next owner may find its something really simple and cheap to fix and wonder why nobody fixed it.

The "oh it's supermarket fuel thats to blame" is an excuse used by rubbish mechanics.
