Passport Renewal

My daughter's passport runs out in June. I want to make doubly sure I have one in time for when we go away in July. I've seen that I can apply 9 months before her passport runs out, but will I lose out on a few months (i.e. February - June) by applying this early?

It says on the gov site - up to 9 months of the time left on the old passport will be added to the new passport.

Oops, missed that bit. I did see that I could apply 9 months before, but didn't read it properly. Thanking you.

This time of year is a great time to apply - usually only takes about a week for it to arrive after you submit the application.
