Is it possible to set my windows 7 computer to automatically create a system restore point say every week and every time I install a new program?

You are better off using a free back up program (not the awful one included in Windows) and backing up to an external drive periodically. This has the added benefit in the case of a hard drive failure or malware attack you have a separate recovery image. It will cost for the back up drive but money well spent as an insurance policy.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0

You can do this in the advanced settings however might be better to setup a backup than use restore points0
