Courtesy car has been keyed!!

Hi,
My car had been parked up stationery when a van hit it and was all captured on CCTV. This has been all sorted now and work is now been started on my vehicle after nearly 3 months! In this time my insurance sorted out a courtesy car for me.
In this time I have noticed there is a scratch on the courtesy car they provided me, it looks like someone has keyed it the B******:mad::mad: as it has gone to the metal. It is around 15 cm long at the back side of the car. Im just wondering what to do as it is not my fault and surely they can't expect it to be in prestige condition still after 3 months waiting.
I noticed that the daily charges included are a damage waiver charge of £3.60 a day and the damage waiver excess id £500.00 and im unsure what this means!
I am due to take it back Thursday i think (14th)
PLEASE HELP!

You need to report this vandalism to the courtesy car people straightaway. Don't leave it, until you take the car back.
Even thought not your fault, you need to ask whether there is any excess or whether the excess insurance reduced the excess to nil. I an not sure whether the damage waiver reduced the excess to nil or to £500.
The other issue will be whether this is a credit hire car, which you agreed to pay any hire charges, that cannot be claimed back from the at fault third parties Insurers. You need to check what you signed for.
Be careful and check the car thoroughly, as some of these hire companies will attempt to claim for damage or say it needs cleaning due to its condition. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
Thanks for the reply
It says on the docs that all of it is charged to the fault third parties insurance the daily charges etc.
The problem is i dont know if i will have to pay the first 500 or im covered upto 500 pounds worth of damage...0 -

As above you need to ask if you are unsure, The extra payment may have been to drop the £1000+ excess down to £500.
Only way to know is asking them. Maybe worth getting a quote to see if you can repair it cheaper before handing it back.
When you phone try not to give your details, just a general enquiry.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
