Choosing a handleless kitchen - help needed!

Thank you so much for your replies. There is just so much to consider. We will be in our house for at least another 6 years so I want something that is of reasonable quality, where the laquer on the doors won't come off, the units won't buckle and the worktop won't scratch and melt with the steam from the dishwasher. We've lived with a rubbish kitchen for the past 9 years (without a dishwasher) so a lovely new kitchen is well overdue.
How do I know if the doors are lacquered or wrapped and which is better?
I see what you mean CP about the J groove door - they are not that easy to open and orange peely does not sound good. What German make do you do?
I'm worried that Hacker is the lower end of the German Kitchen market and we'll just end up with a Wickes kitchen quality because we've been duped by the German Kitchen slogan. Maybe I should look at another independent German Kitchen place - they seem to be cropping up all over though so it's hard to know whether they are any good or not. We're in South East London if anyone can recommend any kitchen places around here? (it's a long shot but you never know!)
I definitely agree about the DIY stores being about the sale. B&Q have hassled me and with Wickes I was under a lot of pressure to sign up to credit, which I don't even want!0 -
Hi
Please send me a private message with your location in the south east and I will get back to with what we do and hopefully a recommendation of a kitchen specialist near you.

In the main German kitchens will offer much greater level of flexibility and choice in design, better attention to detail, better design coordination etc. Combine that with a good designer and you will get impressive results and with the current weakness in the Euro at very competive prices too.
Agreed most kitchens used the same raw materials and fittings but that applies to most products on the market. A cheap Korean car is made from the same materials as a quality German car. Doesnt mean they are the same thing. This argument can be applied to practically anything manufactured but the argument on the end product falls apart when vastly different end results come out of same starting materials. We’ve had to remove your signature. Hello,
I just wanted to add that you don't have to go for a German manufacturer to get a high quality bespoke modern handleless kitchen. There are many British manufactured kitchen showrooms that will create a handleless kitchen using the same or similar handleless rail systems that German manufacturers use, or their own systems.
Indeed there is one kitchen & bathroom showroom in South East London that we have supplied worktops for that sell British made Bespoke modern kitchens that can even match the handleless rail with the worktop if you wanted, they are called "Ogle" at the Five-ways junction on the A20 heading out of town in New Eltham.0
