CCJ from a Defunct Company

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help. I'm currently applying to rent a house and a credit check has brought up to CCJ's one I knew about that was paid off via an attachment of earnings 2 years ago and another I have no knowledge of which doesn't show up on my Experian or a CCJ check. Anyway for talking to the court and doing some digging I can see its to a company that are now defunct (dissolved as of September 2015 according to Companies House). The letting agent are refusing to proceed until it's cleared (if it isn't already) or I produce a satisfied statement I'm just not sure how I do this if the company no longer exist, any advice? Thanks.

I don't know how much information letting agents can see from a credit check (I think it's pretty limited) but surely you can order a copy of your credit report, print it off and take it down to show them? Your credit report will show if the CCJ has been settled or not.
You can either order a £2 paper report from the credit reference agencies, which would take a few days or sign up for free services such as Noddle.co.uk or Clearscore.com and print your report yourself for quickness. We’ve had to remove your signature. Unfortunately the CCJ isn't showing on my Experian credit report or a CCJ report I ran, I'm not sure how the letting agent found this information. Must have been a thorough credit check!
Unfortunately without either proof I've paid it or paying it if it isn't already they're refusing to rent to me even with 6 months rent upfront and I have no idea what to do if the company thr debt is with no longer exist!0 -
They can't do a more though 'credit check', although they may check the actual register of judgements and fines. It's more likely that their check is using some input data that is matching up the CCJ to you while the one you are doing does not. Can happen where there are slight differences in info used to request the report.
What is the company you owed? Usually is some way you can sort it, one way or another.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
