Accessory Damaged Camera (GoPro)

Hi there - I'm a newbie :)

I recently purchased a accessory for a GoPro camera from Amazon. When I fitted the accessory it damaged the new £300 camera.

The seller is offering to replace the item - which was around £15. This doesn't seem very fair.

If they are selling an accessory for a specific camera and it damages it do they have any responsibility?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Has the seller accepted the item is faulty and thats why it damaged it, or did your fitting damage it?
  • It's hard to say. It didn't come with any fitting instructions. It's a frame for them camera. It looked like it was fitted fine, then the corner of the front plate of the camera bulged out of the frame.

If you can prove it's the accessory to blame then you can claim consequential losses.

Is there any reviews on the item with other people having the issue? it's always a good indicator as to whether a product is faulty or not. One thing is for sure, if you buy a faulty product the reviews will tell you about it, especially on sites like amazon.
