What happens if you need to get a refund but you have switched banks and have a different debit card?

If its already been made, your bank will likely send you a cheque (contact them and they may be able to tell your their process for it).
If it hasn't been made already, you could ask the company to process the refund by cheque. Whether they will or not is a different matter (some will - especially if you can provide proof the account is closed) but I've found the one thing they wont do, is refund to another card.
Either way, it might take a bit longer than normal but you should definitely get your money back without much hassle. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
