What's best savings or current??

Hello MSE's
I am leaving the UK for 12 - 24 months to work in SE Asia.
I have approx £4K savings which I wish to have access to, as I'm not likely to be able to add to the savings from my salary, which will be enough to live on. I may need to supplement my salary, so therefore will need instant access to the fund but would like it to earn as much interest as is possible while it sits.
Some of the accounts that pay the best rates require a minimum salary, and regular deposits, which would not be practical for me.
Has anyone got any good ideas?

Nationwide flex account with a high interest savings account or cash isa attached.
The interest may not be quite as high as a top savings account, but at least you can access your money using a debit card and will not be charged 2-3% conversion rates on the currency.
Internet access too, so you can move money around if you need too.
Have a good trip.
R.Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.
