As i'm sure many people know, that have experienced Extra Energy, they are not very good... that's the nice way of putting it.
They threatened to charge me £12.00 for every time they have to contact me, and I want to know whether there is any way I can charge them for every time I make contact and never hear back... they are essentially wasting my time away so surely there has to be a way for me to ask for reimbursing me for my time.
Do I just need to send an email advising that for every time I make contact, I will be seeking compensation of £10.00, along with £2.00 per day that I do not hear back, including any previous communications which are awaiting a response?

No chance at all .
If you have losses then you would need to quantify them .0 -
surely this is the same for them wanting to charge me £12.00 per communication though isn't it? If they were to charge me then they have to provide evidence of second by second of where the cost would come from? If it's just the time spent by a human being typing an email, then surely this is the same for me sending them an email?0

Not the same at all.
Presumably, the £12 per communication charge was included in the original contract you agreed with them, when you chose them as your energy supplier. If you now want to charge them, they have to agree to it before hand.
If the £12 was not in your contract, simply refuse to pay it.0 -
ok, well for now i've cancelled my direct debit until they decide to actually respond to me... they have got to be the worst company I have ever dealt with for communications.0
-
Have you checked your contract to see what happens if you cancel your DD? Many companies best tariff requires them to be paid by DD - if you cancel you could end up on (expensive) standard rates.0
-
I only cancelled the DD as they shot my DD up from £48 a month to £149 without any explanation, I asked for a reason and they didn't respond.
I told them I wanted a response within 1 week (back in October 2015) or I would cancel my DD... 2 weeks later I cancelled it as I didn't hear back.0 -
careful about cancelling the DD, it may appear on your credit file as non payment"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"
