Remember to tell them they only need to say what in their opinion was the most likely cause. (They will not be able to say for certain, but may be happy to give an opinion.) It may also help if they state somewhere what their experience is, and if they have any relevant qualifications.
I won't say anything about the warranty issue but using it once or twice a day (I assume you use it then every day of the week) is a lot of use and it will certainly shorten the lifespan of the appliance a bit.

In my old place I had a washing machine that was already 2nd hand and no fancy brand either and almost 5 years later was still working fine but I would do a wash once a week, not everyday.

I understand people have different needs and my mum for example uses hers everyday but she's had it for years as well and so I think you have a case when you say you expect a Samsung washing machine to last more than 3 years to be honest.

Thanks folks.... I'll keep you updated.

Well I have a similar Samsung machine that's only 18 months old with a supposedly 5 year warranty which I registered at the time.

Its got a minor fault in that water collects in the door seal. I doubt its worth getting Samsung involved as they'll surely blame me for it.

I doubt paying to fix these machines is worthwhile once Samsung refuses to do it. They are quite expensive to buy (and expensive to fix) but I'm really unsure its been worth it as its performance is no better than any of the cheap machines I've had in the past.

If my Samsung lasts 6 years I'll be surprised (its used about twice a week). I had a Servis machine that lasted 10 years and being smaller was used far more often.

In future I'll buy a far cheaper Zanussi (about half the price) and replace it as soon as it goes west.

When you posted the warranty card you just registered for the standard 2 year warranty and not the promotional 5 year warranty that needs to be registered online or buy phone.

Might have changed since last post 2016.

Warranty depends as always upon the terms and conditions .5 year warranty see posts above .

Probably does not cover parts not available .

Hi all, I know this is an old thread but I thought I'd add my experiences with exactly the same issue...

So my Samsung washing machine bought in 2016, also has the E3 error that seems to be so common with Samsung goods, a simple internet search will bring them all up....

We thought our washing machine was covered by the 5 year warranty but they say it isn't and I can't find any email proof.

I have argued how does simply registering make any actual difference, for example is the item insured separately by a third party company for example but it doesn't seem that is the case at all. A reference number is apparently generated and recorded against the registered product and that's it.

Samsung seem to take a very hard line on this, if you didn't register then bad luck, they wont sway. Even if they see you have many other registered products and are a loyal customer it seems to make no difference. They have referred me to an authorised repairer who by email knew exactly what the problem was and quoted £220.

So I'm convinced this is an inherent problem with many Samsung washing machines and I guess if I had the cover of the 5 year warranty it wouldn't be a problem, but without it I reckon you would be hearing from many more disgruntled customers. I am annoyed with myself because I should have made sure that the washing machine was definitely registered and that we received the confirmation email.

My experience with Samsung over the last couple of weeks has been very frustrating, so much so that I've now decided to boycott their products and I'll be more careful with "free" extended warranties in future.

More like he guessed the fault from the code and 95% of the time he can repair the machine and make a profit for £220.

Even if the fault is not what he thought, still a profit at £220, maybe a smaller profit and the odd 5% maybe no profit.

In that case it still comes under your Consumer Rights against the vendor .( But you are going to be asked to proof that assertion )

Warranty is just an extra and has any terms and conditions they want .
