Equifax - credit agreements addresses seem incorrect

I am not sure if I'm interpreting my equifax credit report correctly, and I also have an address issue which may be adding to my confusion.

I have lived at

1. my current address, address A, for over 3 years.
2. Before that I lived at address B for 2 years.
3. Recently my credit report was showing me living at address C, which I have never lived at but which is one digit (in the house number) missing compared to my current address. E.g. if I lived at 101, this address C is showing as 10.

I have never filled in any forms with number 10, but equifax until recently didn't acknowledge that number 101 existed in their database and so presumably that was the closest match they could make to my address? It now seems I have at least managed to resolve this issue as my current address is now correct, but this linked address at number 10 is still annoyingly shown as a linked address for me, which it should never have done.

My equifax credit report shows:

- One (correctly marked as active) credit account in the Current Address section
- Two (correctly marked as active) credit accounts in the Previous Address section against address B - but these accounts are both registered at the current address and have been for 3 years.
- Another (correctly marked as active) credit account under Linked Addresses at address C.

The two accounts at address B were indeed opened when I was at that address, but have since been moved to Address A. Should these be showing against Address A in my report or do they only show against the address I opened them at?

The account marked against Address C has never been at that address. How can I get that moved to Address A on my report?

I hope that was coherent enough for someone to help me!

  • Hi there, I have a similar thing on my credit file. I live at no 45 but as well as that address being listed, no 3 is also listed several times. I've contacted the companies its linked to and they can't even explain why its there. I've requested they be removed and one company has agreed. I'm having more problems with O2, not only do they list no3 but also a random address I have never lived at. Still waiting to hear back from them.

Contact the companies these addresses are linked to as well as contacting Equifax directly. I'm not sure how important this is.....

Thanks, at least I now know I'm not the only one who has this issue. I'll try contacting Equifax to start with - now I just have to work out how to do that.
