Hi Roz,
Sry been busy for a few days.
Re: the cheque. I wouldnt send it as i would make them chase it. If they accept the offer, you can make the payment later, leaving the money in your bank for now earning interest, and costing them another letter to tell you they accept. If they reject your offer, you have to send another cheque, and cancel the first at your time and hassle. Maybe a bit petty, but playing their game is key.
Re: your car. Peugeot were never losing money, rather, earning less profit from you. I have zero sympathy for these companies, as they want it all ways. Top price for their car, bottom for your PX, 10%apr (and the rest) while the interest rates have been 0.5% for 7 years, then they hound your for money they are not entitled to when you exercise your legal rights.Mortgage £242500 on completion
FD CC 11/2014 £5900 (£3900 after BT)
FD loan Approx £5700
Deeply depressing total - £2541000 -
Well I sent the cheque - if they can persuade me that I owe them more money I can send them another one for the difference.
If they reject my offer what would the next step be? Would I lodge an official dispute with the BVRLA?0 -
Had a call today from the cowboys dealing with my case saying that they don't accept my cheque for £50 and that I need to send them the rest of the money. I said that I made my position clear in my letter and that I will be raising a complaint with the BVRLA. I also asked that all further communication be in writing.0
