in Credit cards
Hi,
My boyfriend took out a barclaycard recently with their 12m 0% pur offer and this went through mega-quick with no hassle at all. I need to take another card out and was thinking of going for barclaycard. Will it matter that he took one out with them? We are financially linked as we live at the same address.
cheers

It should be ok, assuming you don't already have a lot of other recent credit searches. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that your credit file will only show his and your joint accounts not searches.0

thanks Jay.
I got a card a couple of months ago, so had a search then. My boyfriend has had two searches done in the last month.
I would really appreciate anyone else's thoughts too on whether being linked financially affects whether a company will give a card to me too, and whether they see how many searches my boyfriend has had or not?????

Living at the same address doesn't 'link' you with the CRA's.
What creates a link, or financial association, are joint products such as mortgages, loans, or current accounts.
If you have a financial association with someone, their file will be searched (and their personal circumstances revealed to the lender) when you apply for credit. The searches on their file will be recorded as "financial associate searches'. I can't remember for certain if these financial associate searches are classed as 'unrecorded enquiries', ie they are not seen by other lenders when searching your file, but I suspect they are.0 -
I applied for a credit card last year for GE Money and also for my husband both on the same evening for balance transfers and we both got a card each. So it is possible for you to get one as well, as long as your credit file is OK and you have not applied for too much credit in the last few months.0

From my Experian credit report...Financial associate searches
Financial associate searches show when your credit report information has been seen because someone you are financially connected to has made an application for credit. This information is recorded for you on your copy of your credit report only. It will not be seen by lenders.0 -
