I've broken my foot

Hi all,
Can you offer me any advice? Over the weekend I broke my foot
& were going to pefkos in 3 weeks time. Now the hospital have said it should be nearly healed by then & I should be able to walk a lot better but may still need to have the crutches for support. I've to go back to the hospital the day before we fly to have it checked so won't know until then if I need them still. Do we need to inform the tour operator (Kosmar) if I'm still on crutches? & also do we need to tell the insurance company about it. We purchased an annual policy back in Feb.
Any advice would be welcomed.
Cheers

Definitely inform them both, especially your Insurance co. You may qualify for assistance at the airport - e.g. a buggy to the departure gate.
Hope it doesn't spoil your holiday!0 -
My son injured his foot (run over by a field gun wheel!) 2 weeks before he was duue to fly to the US and we were told by the hospital that if he had broken anything, that they would be a split cast on his foot so that he could fly.
As it was he didn't break anything but wore a splint for the following 6 weeks just to support the ligaments which he had damaged.
He did take a crutch with him, in his suitcase, but didn't use it...but didn't have any problems with customs etc.

you should inform both tour operator and airline as well as your travel insurance company of this (and a good cust service rep in all 3 should tell you to contact the other too!). At least then they can make additional preparation and you could get preferential seating!
For the travel insurance they need to be aware of this if you're still going ahead with travel to make sure they will cover this - which they may do since it happened since you booked your holiday.
If you have to cancel the hol as a result, make sure you get written confirmation from your consultant/gp confirming that cancelation will be medicially necessary as you would need to submit this to claims.0 -
As everyone else has said, inform them. But even if you get the all clear the day before, take the crutches with you. If your foot is still weak when you are there, it'll be a lot easier if you have your own crutches then trying to get some locally. When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.0

See if the hospital will give you written confirmation you are fit to travel or the airline may go into play it safe mode when you check-in.0

Thanks for your advice everyone. Will inform them all, as you say may get better seating if were lucky.
Cheers

You won't get an exit seat as you need to be fully mobile but it might be worth asking for a bulkhead seat.0
