Bank loans 1983-1989 and 1994-2000 but no paperwork?ppi?

My husband and i took loans for our small business with 2 banks,
Several loans between 1983-1989 and then several 1994-2000. We contacted the bank we had loans with 1994-2000 but they said they had no records.

I do remember asking the bank manager of NatWest on one occasion why the set up fees were so high, but don't know if any of ths was ppi.

So, is there any way or point to pursue this or is it a lost cause. Many thanks for any advice J

Business loans back then (and often still today) had fees. Fees are not PPI. PPI is insurance.

PPI was a mid to late 80s product. So, whilst its possible it could have been on the loans back then, it is less likely. Also, the further back in time you go, the less likely records will remain. Especially if you no longer have a banking relationship with them However, if you have details then they can use copies of your details (i.e. if you have the old agreements or statements).

Ultimately, if they have no records and you have no records then its game over. If you dont believe they have no records then you can pay £10 to do a data subject access request with them. This will give you the information they hold on you.
