Travel Card advice

Hello,
I presently have a Barclays current account (Visa Debit) and a recently opened Santander 123 Visa Debit account too.
Usually I go get my holiday cash from one of those London outlets that offer great rates before going on Holiday. However I'm going on a few trips this year, none of which are leaving from London.
I just applied for Halifax Clarity which has been turned down. I had a credit score of 888 last time I looked at Experian about 3months ago.
I'm going to the US/Singapore/Norway/Hong Kong/Australia/Germany this year so I'll need multiple currencies and figured it would just be easier to get one of the credit cards suggested on this site.
I've never had a CC before (never needed one) so I don't 100% know how they work. I don't really spend much in terms of outgoings. I only mainly want it to take on Holiday to buy stuff with instead of carrying money around. I noticed the Clarity has much the market rate but like I said, i got turned down for it.
I'm guessing if I buy something from Amazon for say £10, I can just transfer £10 from Barclays to the CC and there won't be any charges? Likewise with buying stuff in Hong Kong for example?
Can anyone suggest what else to try? I may just end up doing what I normally do and go get money in London but it's a bit of a hassle.

Revolut looks great actually. Just watched the videos on their website. Think I'll go for that. Thanks
