Halifax HTB ISA interest

I'm looking to open a Help To Buy ISA (a month late, I know!), The obvious choice is Halifax, but it says the interest is paid annually. Seeing as i'm looking to buy this year and therefore not planning on having the ISA for 12 months (probably 6-10 months), does this mean I would not receive any interest, or would the interest be added upon closure of the account?

If I won't receive interest, which is the next best option? I have already contributed to a hsbc cash isa this tax year

    The latter, the interest would be added on closure.

    You will have to close the HSBC ISA before you can put any money into the H2B ISA.
