The insurer will be able to advise better but they should be putting you up in a premier inn or travelodge whilst the kitchen is unusable, and based on the fact you do night shifts, they should put you up whilst any particularly noisy work is going on as well.0

Thanks very much for taking the time to reply. I feel strongly that should and will be the case, but im no insurance expert and i was unsure. Appreciate your advise and opinion on that matter0
