Robinson Way Debt Collectors
Comments
-
A few years ago I had a debt with Halifax, I rang up Halifax and paid it in full. However, for several months after I was still getting chased by them, even having their bailiffs sent to my house twice. .
Hi,
You have to be careful how you deal with any DCA, as behind all the nicey, nicey, "can you afford it" tripe, they are all out to make money from you.
Just one point I must clarify, for other peoples benefit mostly.
The people knocking on your door were "doorstep collectors".
These are just normal, self employed folk usually, who are just doing a job, they have no special powers whatsoever, so its important to note, they are NOT bailiffs.
Only a court can instruct a Bailiff, not a DCA.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Should I just send the first letter or both letters? Thank you.
Top one first.
If no response after a few weeks,
Follow up with the second letter.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I've just checked my paperwork only to find out that this is the same debt as 2014 and I sent a prove it letter but did not hear anything from Robinson Way again until just before Christmas 2015.
Ah well, in that case, I would say different advice would apply.
Your angle now should be that as the creditor has not enforced that judgement in 6 years, they would need to go back to court in order to do so.
The court would need a good reason why they have not already enforced there rights, and if they can't offer one, the judge would not normally allow them to continue enforcement action.
6 years is concidered time enough, so you should write a letter containing the above, and send it off to them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Thank you very much, I will take a slightly different angle now where I am now going to apply for Robinson Way to send me the court judgement as I need to identify when this judgement was made. I am not sure how to write this letter so any help would be appreciated please?0

I have done clearscore (which is done through Equifax) and it states that I do not have any court or Insolvency data and I am not in default and i do not have any repossessions.

Be wary of Robinson Way, by my personal experience with them they certainly don't abide by the rules. A few years ago I had a debt with Halifax, I rang up Halifax and paid it in full. However, for several months after I was still getting chased by them, even having their bailiffs sent to my house twice. I rang and written to them with proof, from the Halifax, that this particular account was closed but that didn't stop them. Eventually I'd written to the financial ombudsman and sent them a copy. I've not heard from them since.
They tried it on with my Hubby about 5 years ago, told him he had a debt outstanding to Ebay(account fee's). He Never has had an Ebay account. Sent a prove it letter. Never heard from them again0
