Capital One Acceptance Email

Hi, I applied for Capital One's Classic CC 2 days ago and at the end of the application I was asked to provide a form of ID. I was given the option of providing details of my passport, provided it was a UK passport, however I only hold an Irish one, which was insufficient. The other option was to post my Drivers License and as you may understand, I decided against doing so due to the nature of my line of work, which requires me to carry my license at all times. So I pretty much closed the application window and abandoned my application altogether.

Around 24 hours later I received a legitimate email(below) stating that my application was "accepted", much to my surprise.

Have any of you had a similar experience when applying for a Capital One CC?
Should I expect to be asked to provide documents again to verify my identity?
Or should I expect Capital One to do as they have outlined in this email and send me account details, Pin and Card?

I would really appreciate any assistance on the matter, Thank You.
Buster :)

Ah right, The way the request was worded led me to believe that I had to post them the original copy. If they do make the same request, I'll follow your advice. Thank You Ged :)

Yeah, I think that's my best bet, at least if needs be, I can explain my reluctance of sending away valued documents when I believe a copy should be sufficient. A human will undoubtedly be more understanding than an automated computer system, well hopefully. Thanks Everyone! ;)

Perhaps they ran a manual check and everything matched your credit history so they processed it?

I don't remember providing any of my passport details when I signed up a year ago.

Thanks very much for taking the time to respond to my query Futuristic.
That is exactly what I thought and it would be the most logical explanation as it all adds up. Couple that with the fact that I don't appear to be on the electoral register, according to Experian, which would have prompted the original ID request to verify my Identity/Address, however when it was then processed manually, I guess that they had a more accurate Electoral Register which I would most certainly be on.

One other thing... included in the acceptance email was the last 4 digits of my Capital One account number. I wouldn't have an account number unless I was definitely accepted, would that be right?
