Edenred vouchers for Thomas Cook

Has anyone got any experience of using Edenred vouchers to pay for a Thomas Cook holiday?
I booked a holiday in the summer and paid the deposit with nearly £5K to pay for the balance by March. I have money to pay this but saw a deal through a discounts and advantages scheme through work. My employer is signed up to a National scheme run by Edenred where you get discounts on thing and one of the January ones is 7% off Thomas Cook.
I would pay through the Edenred site and they would send me vouchers which I think I have to send off to Thomas Cook. It sounds great and I would save over £300 if I took up this offer.
My concern is everything I have read online about Thomas Cook vouchers is pretty negative and although these aren't Thomas Cook vouchers it is Thomas Cook who have to process them.
Have any of you had a positive or negative experience with either Edenred or Thomas Cook vouchers or how to navigate the inevitable 'we didn't receive them/we lost them' nightmare if I do take the gamble?

Paper vouchers and posting by snail mail sounds very antiquated in these days of doing things online and by e mail.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

yes, it is but that is the only format they are available in. Thomas Cook do giftcards but these wouldn't give me the discount. The maximum I can have made into vouchers is £5K but I don't have £5K to lose if it doesn't go through smoothly. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

Are they Thomas Cook worldwide travel vouchers if so yes I use them all the time. My brother is in a works scheme and he gets 5% off the value. I order them they come through the post by next day delivery to be signed for. I only ever book in a TC shop so I take them in there and pay jobs a good un. If you have booked via phone or internet I think you have to pay them through the post by registered post incase they get lost or stolen they are protected. They do have individual serial numbers so they could be traced. You could try asking in your local store if you can pay the balance in their shop you maybe able to.0

Thanks Steph, I am not sure if that's what they are as the website doesn't say - it just says Thomas Cook vouchers and from looking again at the T&C's I think I will be able to pay them at the shop. This sounds like the same thing as your brother gets - for new year there is a 7% discount so you can stock up if its the same.
We booked in the shop so sounds like it should be ok. I will phone the shop and check. It would be great to save nearly £350.
Thanks Steph, that was really helpful. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
Some of the reviews are bad and it might just not be worth risking it.
Perhaps buy one in a small denomination and see how it goes with redeeming in the shop.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -

I had more time this morning and googled Edenred. Yes it does look the same sort of thing. As you booked in a Thomas cook shop you will have no problem paying with them they accept the worldwide vouchers for anything they sell other than anything foreign exchange related and the new TC giftcard.0 -
