Save Britain Money/Save me my money/We Claim U Gain /Mortgage Audit Centre etc!

Quite some time ago, my hubby and I were successful in reclaiming a number of PPI claims through We Clain U Gain. Yes we paid a 25% fee, but to be honest if we hadn't had used a CMC, then we probably would never have got around to doing it ourselves as we had a young family at the time.
Anyway a little after those claims had been successful, we were contacted by the Mortgage Audit Centre in July/August 2013 who said they were linked to We Claim U Gain and about claiming against the mortgage we had originally taken out as we may have been Mis-sold and not offered the best deal at the time. However there was an upfront fee of £149 plus vat to pay. At first we declined, but they rang a few more times and in the end we went for it and paid by credit card as they (wcug) had done good for us before.
On 7/8/13 we received some forms and terms of business, in Oct 2013 we received letter from our mortgage company to say they had received a request for documentation and that they had sent the requested info.
We then didn't hear anything until January 2014 when they returned some docs, but this time with save Britain money headed note paper rather that Mortgage Audit Centre.
After investigation, I realise that WCUG and MAC went into administration and were subsequently bought by Neville Wilshire's Save Me My Money and Save Britain Money's group of companies.
I have made several calls to find out what was happening with my claim, but was always fobbed off. I then (this time last year) made some enquiries with the Claims Management Regulation service and was told that Save Britain Money were still trading so to contact them. I did, spoke to someone who said they would email me some details which I never received!!!
I feel stupid as realise this must have been a con all along. I'm not bothered about the money paid up front, it's the just the principal now that we were ripped off.
Does anyone know if there is anyone this can be reported too and if anything can be done about it, or shall I just let it go?!
Thanks for listening to my ramblings!!

It probably would have taken you less time to complain directly than it did to use a CMC. So, that is a rather poor excuse. Sorry.nyway a little after those claims had been successful, we were contacted by the Mortgage Audit Centre in July/August 2013 who said they were linked to We Claim U Gain and about claiming against the mortgage we had originally taken out as we may have been Mis-sold and not offered the best deal at the time. Or to put it another way.... They knew you were mugs and decided to charge you up front for something with extremely low chances of success but that didnt matter as they earned £149 plus VAT from you.I feel stupid as realise this must have been a con all along. I'm not bothered about the money paid up front, it's the just the principal now that we were ripped off.
Yes. Once bitten not twice shy in your case.Does anyone know if there is anyone this can be reported too and if anything can be done about it, or shall I just let it go?!
I know my comments will sound harsh but its more a cruel to be kind style response. You really need to take more care in future. People that cold call generally do not have your interests at heart and most cold calls are scams or dodgy. Please learn this now before you do it all over again with the next one.
All you can go is complain to the firm and if the firm fail to respond (as they have) then refer your complaint to the legal ombudsman.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Mega Magnificent Maxi-Meticulous Uber-MoneySaving Magnate is a title that the forum gives based on post count, it is nothing to do with the poster. You are either new or post very little, your title is "MoneySaving Newbie", mine is "Serious MoneySaving Fan"Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

The OP has been a little silly, given that they had been on the board, albeit inactive when they were sucked in to the scam.
