PPI complaint Halifax

Hi,
Ok so i got a letter of Halifax saying they owed me some money for a PPI complaint, nice one. Then on other side of letter it says"my review shows your financial affairs are being managed by an insolvency practitioner or iva supervisor, therefore we have made payment to them. Yes i was bankrupt but that was 10years ago and ive been out of it for about 6 years,so i do not have a insolvency practitioner or iva supervisor. So does anyone know who gets the money.
Thank you

Bankrupts cannot EVER benefit from PPI complaints no matter how long ago the Bankruptcy. The redress has already been sent to the Official Receiver and you have no right to the money unless the PPI was taken out after you went bankrupt (which is very very unlikely, of course).

The OR gets the redress and it is distributed to the creditors you failed to pay when you went bankrupt.

Time has nothing to do with it. It is either pre-bankruptcy or post bankruptcy and any PPI premiums paid prior to bankruptcy that are now refunded go to the OR.

  • I received a letter stating I was owed more PPI from Halifax as they had wrongly calculated my first payment 2 years ago. Are they looking at all claims again or is this just a very lucky one off?
  • Probably better to start a new thread rather than "hi-jack" this one…
