Hi,
I am thinking of taking out a one year fixed bond with Shawbrook bank. I have never heard of this company so I am a bit apprehensive, is it safe to invest with this bank?

Why are you thinking of investing in something you've not heard of.
What has made you choose the people you've never heard of over all the people you have heard of.
Would you rather pick your husband from the 1000s of men you may meet in your life or choose a random stranger you have never met.Left is never right but I always am.0 -

What has your own research turned up?

Shawbrook bank offer 1.80% for a 1 year fixed bond, which is a much better rate of interest than other high street banks.
Also, they are covered by the financial services up to £75000.00, if they go bust.0 -
How much are you putting in?Left is never right but I always am.0

No problem at all with Shawbrook. I bought a 1 year ISA from them a couple of months ago at 1.95%. As long as you're not investing more than £75,000 then you are covered just as you would be with any other bank.Suzi_Llewellyn wrote: »Hi,

I've got money in the bank of Cyprus, they have a min pay in off £10,000, not sure what there interest rate is at the mo.
They have an office in London and are covered by the £75,000 guarantee.0 -
I've had a few fixed rate bonds with Shawbrook Bank over the years (they have been around for about 5 years) and am happy with the service received and would recommend.
Shawbrook is a member of the FSCS.
I also use/recommend Aldermore Bank, Close Brothers Savings and Paragon Bank (all three are members of the FSCS) - who are offering slightly better rates on a one year fixed rate bond:

I have used them in the past and I currently have one of their fixed rate accounts. I recommend them.0
