Fly to mainland China and Vietnam for £425 all-in

Options
What’s the deal?

Oasis Airlines is giving away free connecting flights to 11 Asian cities, when you buy a return to Hong Kong. This means you can get to mainland China and Vietnam from a bargain £425 return including taxes.

When and where?

It’s valid on bookings made before 25 Sept, for travel between 15 Sept 2007 and 14 Dec 2007. You must stop over in Hong Kong on both the inbound and outbound journeys; so do bear in mind taxi costs from the airport. Read the full T&Cs.

The connecting flights from Hong Kong are with Hong Kong Airlines and include: Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam, and in China, Tianjin, Kunming, Nanchang, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Haikou, Qingdao, Guilin and Guilin.

Don’t book without comparing the price

Once you’ve got the Oasis quote, use the Cheap Flight Finding article to compare what the best of the other airlines is.

    Jenny..

Thought i would reply as its not a very good deal and your title is wrong..

Its China or Vietnam not both..

If you want a good deal you can get to to HongKong with the same airline return for £269 (or less, but this is what i have paid. I have also got it for £227). Then fly with local carriers to places such as Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia & Indonesia for £50-£100 (or less) ontop.

So if you want a better deal you can fly to all the places (one of them) i have stated for £377+ (over £100 pound saving).

If you wanted to go to Guilin (it's great) you can just land in HKG and then get the subway to the border and then get the bus / train very cheaply.

    Nice try though :T

try http://whichbudget.com/en/cheapflights.php?from=HKG for flights from HKG or from Macau for some other destinations (boat from HKG airport or the mainland)

It needs to be mentioned now that this quite simply isn't the best deal. Flying Via Dubai with Emirates (undoubtedly one of the best airlines on the planet) can cost as little as £389 to Beijing, depending on dates (from Gatwick). Flights from Heathrow are only an extra £6, coming in at £395 return incl. TFC's.

    All prices from Expedia.

Well for £425 going to Hong Kong AND another city it is a pretty good deal...nice to be able to see multiple cities for that cost.

If you only want to go to somewhere like Beijing and not Hong Kong I would advise just getting a flight only as like Dmoz said you can get them for 380 area.

I was going to say the same thing. When i flew to Beijing last year it was around £360 return.

    A couple of points:

The OP mentions taxi costs from the airport in Hong Kong. Very few people would use a taxi for this journey: Hong Kong airport is very well served by public transport (choose fast, the airport express, or cheap, bus to Tung Chung and then bus or subway to your final destination).

Hong Kong is a useful gateway to China, and a good place to pick up visas. But it is a very long way from Beijing and northern China.

I agree that local carriers offer good deals on regional flights out of Hong Kong, but there are sometimes advantages to having your entire journey on a single ticket.

And note that on this deal, you will need to enter Hong Kong in order to catch your flight home. To do so, you MUST have a passport that has more than six month's validity on the day you enter Hong Kong, which may be at the end of your holiday. (I was once caught by this rule!)

Just wanted to point out that Beijing isn't one of the Chinese destinations on offer in this deal, so it isn't really an either this deal or a cheaper flight direct to Beijing comparison.
  • Oasis have a basic one-way price of £75 (then add Mr Brown's taxes etc) and as far as I am concerned, they are a force to be reckoned with in the long distance budget airline stakes.
The meals are very basic, but then, it ain't much better in cattle class whichever airline you use, and for 75 quid, what does anyone expect? What makes them good in my experience is that you are allocated a seat (hope Ryan are reading this) and the cabin crew are attentive, helpful and THERE, unlike airlines such as Delta where they all seem to disappear once supper is over!!
I have just booked flights with Oasis Hong Kong for late February/early March next year on their new flight from Gatwick and bagged two free tickets to Hong Kong. I have to pay the obscene taxes the UK Government insists on, but free is good in my book. Round trip ended up as £268, which is only just above an open single from Plymouth (where I live) to London on First Great Western.
If you have money to burn, fly conventional airlines, but do search well as some of the big boys have deals that make sense sometimes.
  • how do you get the 75 quid ticket?
