I can't see what Hamish did that makes him so worthy of countless threads about him on their site. The entire forum is obsessed with Aberdeen purely because Hamish lives there, mental. Wish I could wind them up that much
Countless? Do you mean you can`t count, or Count of Nowhere doesn`t post on them? Can you post links to four or five so we can have a look.0 -

We paid off our first house by 2007, then needed to move, so bought another one.
Neither house is rented out, one is lived in by us, and the other we provide for an ageing relative to live in.
"The HPC guys" get apoplectic about me because....
1) I had a choice to buy or rent in 2007 and chose to buy - and that decision put me well, well ahead financially versus renting since then - which clearly makes me Satan
2) I have more than one property - which clearly makes me Satan
3) While they were busy being catastrophically wrong for the last 7 years - the World didn't end and the rest of us just got on with enjoying the recovery - which clearly makes me Satan
4) I haven't been particularly shy about winding them up over any of those facts...;) Which obviously makes me the Anti-[STRIKE]Christ[/STRIKE] Crash....
All good fun though.*
*Unless you're an HPC-er still busily buying a house for your landlord 7 years after being warned by Hamish it was a pretty bad idea....:)

We've already established that you need a 110% fall in house prices to break even. Anyone who listens to you should remember that.0 -

20 years x £400/ month to live in places none of which he's liked enough to have wanted to stay and now in an area where benefit claimants get more to spend on rent and loads of places are boarded up.
...and he's got a thing about Hamish and Aberdeen. Talk about fiddling while Rome burns.0 -
Anecdotally - the number of grads applying for jobs in O&G is down substantially.
Sure - there are few positions opening - but applications for summer positions at a large EPC have been very low.
Maybe due to the reduction in total number of jobs required - but the trend is that the industry doesn't need the human capital.
They'll all get jobs in the City of London of course.0 -

Sorry about that. I'll repost...
20 years and c£90,000 to live in places none of which he's liked enough to have wanted to stay and now in an area where benefit claimants get more to spend on rent and loads of places are boarded up.

To be honest I don't think the correction makes your position look the slightest bit better.0
