That is why I never miss any screening appointments. My mum died from breast cancer, she did not go the doctors when she started getting symptoms, the annoying thing was even that long ago she had a very slow growing form and they could have at least given her a few more yearsShe died 34 years ago tomorrow.
Info from NHS website for anyone interested: (Sorry if TMI for first thing in the morning!)
Bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK. If it's detected at an early stage, before symptoms appear, it's easier to treat and there's a better chance of surviving it.
To detect cases of bowel cancer sooner, the NHS offers two types of bowel cancer screening to adults registered with a GP in England:
faecal occult blood (FOB) test – this is available to all men and women aged 60-74. You will be sent the home test kit every two years through the post, until you reach the age of 74. The FOB test checks for the presence of blood in a stool sample, which could be an early sign of bowel cancer. If you are 75 or over, you can ask for this test by calling the freephone helpline on 0800 707 60 60.
bowel scope screening – this additional one-off test is gradually being introduced in England. It is offered to men and women at the age of 55. As of March 2015, about two-thirds of screening centres were beginning to offer the test to 55-year-olds. It involves a doctor or nurse using a thin, flexible instrument to look inside the lower part of the bowel and remove any small growths, called polyps, that could eventually turn into cancer.
Taking part in bowel cancer screening reduces your chances of dying from bowel cancer, and removing polyps in bowel scope screening can prevent cancer.
However, all screening involves a balance of potential harms, as well as benefits. It's up to you to decide if you want to have it.
To help you decide, read our pages on bowel cancer screening, which will explain what the two tests involve, what the different possible results mean, and the potential risks for you to weigh up.

Good morning. On iPint has anyone else had a weekly limit message? It is only Tuesday! I have been doing the cheers with Carling and then with our two other phones and this message has popped up today. I wasn't aware there was a limit, but then I have only been getting £1 or £2 off vouchers for weeks and have plenty of those now anyway that I am unlikely to use.
Anon
You can still "cheers with carling" every day
You can only cheers with friends 10 times a week
It resets on Fridays

It has become triangular on the edge at my side, it's like a bar is sticking out that should not be there  Looks like we are going to have to accelerate the selections process. We know what bed we want, have got a contact looking to try to get the price down for us on a bed and mattress combined at Bensons, the original quote for what we want was over £1100 . If that price does not go down enough I am going to order a mattress from Tesco (one that we have tried elsewhere but happens to be cheaper in Tesco) which the voucher is still valid
Especially if our mattress is now collapsing!
We got our mattress from Mr A online plus free delivery at the time. Mr T had same mattress but wanted more money
Mine is a pillow top mattress firm but so comfortableThere's no place like home
