money is tight this year, so we're not having a holiday.
Next year money will still be tight, but we should (barring the car blowing up), have a bit saved for a cheap holiday.
Any ideas? Incidentally, our old tent is completely beyond repair now, and as I loathe camping anyway (cold, uncomfortble, noisy), I'm hoping to avoid the expense of replacing it, and use that money towards a 'proper' break.
thanks.

I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

Take advantage of the Sun Holidays, £9.50. They are great value, and would recommend them. They are even offering this deal for French and Spanish breaks I believe.keep smiling,

This may be beyond your budget, but we do Eurocamp holidays. Have to admit we have a caravan now but our first holidays with small children were in a tent.
It's not like proper grown-up camping. The beds are like camp beds but with proper mattresses and there's a fridge etc all set up for you when you arrive. The campsites vary from basic to centreparks style and just about everything is included.
We've also done cheap campsite holidays in this country but you take more of a chance on the weather. With Eurocamp type holidays four children under 18 are included in the base price so it's been the only way we've been able to get abroad.0 -
gravitytolls-how big is your family and what sort of ages?
We have also gone to Eurocamp (in a caravan) booked thru 'Leisure Direction'
We've also stayed in accomodation from 'welcome cottages'
and also gone to Center Parcs using a discount code from a daily newspaper that knocked off 30-35% off price.
All these hols are priced per accommodation rather than per person.0 -
For this year (no holiday) have you considered being a "Tourist" in your own area/next town/next County?
Grab all the leaflets from your local Tourist Informatin Board and read through all the activitites which are on and those which are "free". I was very surprised at how much is available around our own area.
I agree about The Sun hols - that's how we afforded our first "holiday" .. nothing Las Vegas LOL ... but a good break away.
Hope you find something suitable~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Try last minute breaks on Teletext and The net. If you are prepared to travel at the drop of a hat you can get some real bargainsWycombe Till I Die0

Hi,
not sure if this is cheap enough, but we are flying with RyanAir during Oct half term to Costa Brava, staying at a Thomsons 3T+ hotel overlooking the beach and total for each of us is £120 Half Board. I know we could have done it for £70 or £80 total each if we wanted to go self catering at a different hotel. By the way, that's based on 2A & 1C.
Hope this helps.

Try ebay for a large caravan or holiday cottage either here or abroad....low starting prices often. I find if you type in 'may' and 'holiday' then a variety of bargains come up. Often v. cheap accommodation abroad too!
Caravans are let out by private owners who want to gain extra income whilst they're not there so again can be v. cheap comparative to catalogue prices...
ebay eh...you can buy anything!0 -

we are 9 - thanks for replying everybody. I'm opening a holiday account, into which i shall invest a small amount each week, hopefully next year we'll have enough to go away with. I like the sound of euro camp, it'd be good for the children to go abroad.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant.
