Hi,
I am looking to install a CCTV system. The Swann NVR4-7285 4 Channel 1080p Network Video Recorder and two cameras looks to be a good low cost option. http://www.costco.co.uk/view/p//view/p/swann-nvr4-7285-4-channel-network-video-recorder-2-x-nhd-810-cameras-189634
This unit comes with Ethernet cables for connection, but would it possible to link two external cameras using TP Link plug? I already have suitable external power sockets and this would save me drilling more holes in the walls and long cable runs.
Many Thanks , Bob.

I'd guess that the cameras use PoE as only a Cat5e cable is mentioned.Includes Cat 5E Ethernet cable & everything needed for HD security made easy
This camera can only be used in combination with Swann’s Full HD Network Video
My guess would be one pair for composite video one pair for audio and one pair for power. Powerline adapters wouldn't handle any of that.0 -
Pretty certain you'll have no joy - there's nothing stating that the cameras themselves are using TCP/IP over the cable, and the site says they MUST be used with that PVR.0
