How To Unlink A Gmail Account From Hotmail?

Hi,

Years ago, I accidentally linked a Gmail account to my Hotmail account. I think I created the Gmail account to create an account on YouTube or something like that.

I now use my Hotmail account for work and each time an email is sent out the crazy Gmail name I created appears. I want to know if there is anyway I could unlink it?

I've never used the Gmail account since it was created. I just don't want every email I sent to say "moocowpoopoo". Awkward!

I've tried to access the moocowpoopoo Gmail account but it no longer exists. I've tried looking on Hotmail in the settings to see if I have linked any accounts but it was not done through Hotmail.

Most likely that your display name (the name that recipients see when you send an email) needs to be updated.

If using the web version of Hotmail/Outlook, after logging in:
- click on your username in the top right corner
- in the menu, select Edit Profile
- on the next screen, click on the Edit link next to your current name
- on the next screen, update your name
