Savings?

I have tried searching but no luck!

I wanted to know what the best saving account is that isn't easy access? I have an isa in my sons name that isn't that easy to access, but didn't know if one existed for adults?

For background:

I am entering an iva, so have basic accounts only. Already have an isa.

Any money I have in my isa I move out - I want an account that I can just tap an app and have access to my savings - I have no self control.

No savings to be moved as have none. I would like to save £1000 this year, but realisticly £500 or less I'd be happy with.

I have also started the penny challenge backwards to help me build up some savings in a tin I have to use a tin opener to get into. Right now that's the only way to stop me wasting money.

Any help greayfuly received.

First thing you need to address is spending all your money. If moving it using an app is a problem then don't install the app and cut up any cards for the account.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Some Regular Savings Accounts don't allow access until maturity. Likewise fixed term savings accounts and notice accounts still exist, but the interest rates on them are so poor the super-savers who frequent this board don't bother with them.
But what happens when they reach maturity and they unlock? Will you just go on a spending spree instead of rolling them over?

Thank you both. I would lock the money away again.

I am budgeting so I don't spend what we can't afford, I think this will be really helpful.

Hi Pinkwhisk. You say you're starting from scratch and would prefer to not have the temptation of being able to withdraw cash. Sounds like a regular savings account would be suitable for you, check the subforum sticky for regularly updated information on the best rates.
