Parking Charge Notice - Scotland
Rhi...

Looking for some up-to-date advice for a parking charge received in Scotland.
In October 2015 I parked in a Morrisons supermarket (Scotland) that used to be Pay & Display so I automatically presumed it still was, (hadn't been in a year) and paid for 3 hours parking using the machine, although I admit I overstayed by an hour and a half.
I then received a PCN around 2 weeks later, did a little research on the internet and came to the decision to ignore the letter but after 3 letters from ParkingEye and 2 from the Debt Collection Agency I'm starting to get a bit concerned and further research had lead me to believe this was the wrong choice?
I really don't want the case to be taken to the Civil Court but I am also pretty stubborn and determined not to pay especially since Christmas has just past. Just looking to see if there is any different advice when the charge was given in Scotland and also should I have been able to put money into the supposedly 'redundant' Pay & Display machine if the car park is now 3 hour free parking?
I don't have the receipt for shopping or the display ticket anymore but have kept all the letters from ParkingEye etc.
Thank you!

The up to date advice is the same as the old advice: ignore.
With 5 letters already you're almost at the point where they give up.0 -
email donotreply@morrisonsplc.co.uk
Ask them if they can cancel the charge as it is harassing you. If you can, attach proof that you are a regular M's shopper (e.g. copy Bank statement from recent months, even though the PCN was from a while back). And/or attach a scan of your Morrisons loyalty card ('Match & More') if you have one in the family or among friends/colleagues, borrow it regardless of surname and show that.
Do not appeal, do not say who was driving. In Scotland the advice is still 'ignore' but complain to the retailer.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
