Rights to amend package holiday booking

I have booked a holiday with crystal ski less than 14 days ago. We are two people staying in a three-person room. Now a friend of mine wanted to join us - does crystal ski have to change the booking at our request?

Also since I booked it online less than 14 days ago, does the distance - does the distance selling regulation imply I can cancel it if I change my mind?

The Distance selling regulations have been superseded by the Consumer contracts regulations, but these new regulations and the DSR are both pretty much the same when it comes to holiday bookings in that there is no statutory cancellation period for leisure activities booked for a set time or date.

What cancellation or amendments are possible will depend entirely on the terms and conditions that you agreed to when making the booking or on Crystal Ski's goodwill if the T&C's don't allow it.

Why are you assuming this will be a problem .....and why do you want to cancel ? You wanted to go on holiday before - what has changed? Surely giving up your holiday because a latecomer wants to join you makes little sense as you were clearly happy to book without them in the first place.

If Crystal still have flight seats available then they will be able to add the other person to your room.....if they don't - they can't.

Assuming flights are still available it won't be an issue.

Why don't you just ring Crystal and ask them before you decide there will be a problem !!

And yes you can cancel but you won't get a refund. You might want to read the booking conditions Crystal emailed you when you booked.

A very long time ago I worked for Crystal for a season on reservations - what you want to do is very common so not sure why you think it's going to be difficult.

You have no "rights".

But they may well be more than willing to accommodate your request.

Contact them to ask for a price you may well find it makes the price per person cheaper as you will have full occupancy in the room. If there is a seat on the plane left it won't be a problem, they will be glad of the extra money.
