I would also suggest checking that the DDs have successfully transferred across to the new current account you have switched into as Tesco is known to sometimes have issues when moving across DDs from donor to new account when you switch through the CASS. For example, I had one case where one did not transfer across at all, one where one did transfer across but was cancelled in error by Tesco not long after switch completion and one where they moved the date of the month on which the payment was collected forward a few days (luckily I had funds in the switched donor account to cover it).

    That'll be the day! ;)

  • Last two times I have tried to add DDs to my Tesco accounts to bag switching incentives, I've been asked to provide evidence that the account to be debited is in my name. They asked for printed statements (online printouts not acceptable). A little difficult when the new account has only just been set up!

Could someone confirm I've done this correctly please.

I've opened 2 Tesco internet saver accounts, with the intention of having 1 DD per saving account to pull from a Santander-soon-to-be-Halifax account.

I went through the DD process on account 1, setting it up for £15, every 7th of the month, etc etc.

I then went to go through the process on account 2, added the Santander account info, but received the error message that this account (Santander) had already been linked/added and all I could do was set the amount and the date for the (presumably) second DD instruction.

My question is: will these definitely show on the Santander account as 2 separate instructions or do (can?) Tesco just issue the one instruction and funnel the funds to the correct Tesco saver account on their end? If that makes sense.

Just asking as I'm cutting it fine for the deadline to switch the donor account to Halifax :D
  • Yeah should be fine, you like your external accounts to your tesco 'ID' as such, so if you have multiple accounts with tesco, your external current accounts will show on both, you'll just need to actually initiate the DD on both. You can always check with Santander that your paying 2 DD's
