Bank with Best Online Banking Experience

Hi,

I'm looking to switch my Current Account, but, I want to switch to a Bank that has an excellent Mobile and Desktop Internet Banking experience.

I'm aware that Barclays has a superb Mobile Banking App, but I understand there is plenty more banks out there than just Barclays.

Which Bank have you found to have good Internet Banking service?

I'd suggest you define your criteria for "good" first.

I agree, maybe a bit too ambitious on my part... How about decent Online Banking?

    Santander
HBOS/Lloyds/TSB (They all share the same online banking UI)
    Tesco

(Basically any bank without needing a physical device to setup payments etc - excluding FirstDirect because the online banking UI is terrible along with the buggy app)

I've used online banking for a few years since 56k dial up modems (pre broadband era)

    Swapped banks a few times.

    I'll offer my personal rating.

1..RBS-old and current bank.Excellent online banking and mobile app..very simple to view and download statements , etc.

    2 HBOS...previous bank...excellent online banking..didn't use a mobile app approx 3 yrs ago.

    3. Natwide..wasn't a fan of their online banking no where near as modern to 1+2 though this is my current mtg provider, can easily view mtg make overpayments online and via mobile app.

4 H.S.B.C very basic online banking in modern terms.

    4. cop-op..why I swapped my current account 20012 is yet to be answered...My vote for the 'ancient' online banking and 0845 tel numbers if you need to make a transaction or setup payments , etc.

Forgot to mention Contactless payments via smart phone,I use Apple pay via iPhone to buy fuel/sandwich/ciggies with RBS, I assume most other banks offer contactless services though cannot specify which banks.

As you know, Barclays is right up there for the online functionality and appearance. Better than Santander IMO. They have some new whizzy contactless devices too - a wristband, and a sticky label. And personalised card images FOC.
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....

New FCA regulations effective 26 October 2015 require an 01, 02, 03 or 080 number for contact by existing customers.

Almost every bank and insurance company has complied.

The regulations extend the provisions that have already applied to retailers, traders and passenger transport companies since 13 June 2014.

Usage of premium 084 and 087 numbers is in rapid decline.

I can't see those survive Apple Pay and Samsung Pay for very long. They are just designed to lock in customers to Barclays, whose accounts are generally very uninspiring.

They can survive until they hold off Apple Pay to customers. I think nearly all the banks support it now except Barclays.

Yeah thanks for the reminder, unfortunately I swapped to cop op 2012 -current account+car insurance, honestly it's the 1st time I took notice of call costs.
