There are two conflicting factors at play. One is that most large leasing companies will be buying more labour, tyres and the like and will drive the cost of maintenance down. However, they may apply a charge for the service which will put the cost up. The maths is super simple. Bear in mind that road fund licence is usually included in a lease. Just add up the servicing, tyres over the lease period (a dealer will be able to do this for you) and compare to the cost of the monthly maintenance charge multiplied by the number of months. Whichever is cheaper - bingo!0

Those deals should increase with China being in the "mess" that it is. I mean, less than 7% growth, tut tut.I've seen some really cracking deals on contract hire lately, imo this is starting to become the most economical way to run a car. I think this is how they do it in the USA.
Most manufacturers expected steady comfortably-into-double-digit growth there, so this production has to go somewhere. Usually the manufacturer buying it, as part of a lease or PCP deal.0 -
Problem with personal leasing is that you cannot reclaim the VAT, unlike a business lease if you are reg'd for VAT. That makes it unattractive compared to a PCP.
How do you figure that?
Looking at what I've just leased (Audi A4 1.4 tfsi) the figures work like this:Lease: Deposit - £627 23 monthly payments of £209 total: £5434
PCP: Deposit - £2685 23 monthly payments of £283.69 Total: £9209
So that's roughly £3.5k more expensive though, if you're lucky it might be worth a bit more than the roughly £17k final payment as a trade in but I would be very surprised. What goes around - comes around0 -

I have a 2 year lease for £440pcm and they wanted £56 per month extra for maintenance. i didn't go for it.
Best bet is to look on leasing company websites for a car that looks a good deal and then submit a request for a quote with and without maintenance and then make your mind up on how much it will cost.0
