Also advise using the built in app. While it isn't perfect, it should sync with iCloud and be available to other Apple products you have and as a backup.0

Thanks again, If I use the contacts, will it update all the shared devices as we want to keep some info on just one iPad and not on the Macbook which is used by others?0

That's what separate users was invented for.
