Return clothing present bought in store.

The present was bought this monday but is not liked.
The store policy says items can be returned if not suitable amongst other reasons within 28 days.
Can i be sure by just saying the item is not suitable or liked by the person who it was bought for?

You've got the receipt? Or a gift receipt?
  • Provided that what you say is the store policy then you shouldn't have any problems.
Was it you that made the purchase and do you have the receipt for the goods?

There is no statutory right to a refund for change of mind purchases in a store (there is for online purchases) but if a retailer offers a returns policy, that forms part of the contract and you then have a contractual right to a refund - providing its within the limitations set by the store in their policy.

In my experience, you just say you want to return the item - they don't ask (and probably don't care) why you're returning it.

Assuming thats what your question was - you asked if you can be sure but didn't explain what it is you want to be sure of ;)
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

I wanted to be sure that i can still return it with the store policy as its not damaged just unwanted.

So what part of the stores "return if not suitable with 28 days" policy don't you understand?

I have purchased things in peacocks and got a full refund w/o problems.
In the past I've often purchased items for DD and my taste doesn't always match hers!!!
  • Peacocks are very relaxed with returns with receipts.

    Thanks for the replies.

Took it back this morning and was asked if there was a fault with the jacket, but no problem giving a refund to the credit card.
