Beware at Matalan

Be careful to tot up your purchases at Matalan as I was overcharged £10 on sale goods. When I returned, I was only offered £4 back as they claimed the other item was 'mis-ticketed'. I'm not in good health so I just accepted what they said but thought I should warn others just in case, as I've never heard that excuse before.

when did you buy your item, did you have your receipt ?

if you had your receipt then you get the money you paid back

if the item was further reduced and you don't have your receipt then the store has no proof of when you bought it, ie, did you buy it before the further reduction or more recently kind of scenario

Overcharging on one item, the other was priced incorrectly so what the op thought was a £10 overcharge was actually only £4.

I presume you could have taken the miss ticketed one back and got a refund.....

I do this anyway, same as anywhere else.

I stopped using them. The New Malden branch is usually virtually empty in comparison to Primark, the till staff are the slowest in the world. There's usually only one who serves at a snail's pace while a queue forms behind. At Primark the staff are fast and efficient.

Matalan's downfall is the lack of central locations.
