Is there a way to get back to the £15 line rental or are all BT cutomers doomed to pay the £60 line rental plus con forever more ?
Perhaps this is just to keep revenue coming if people all more to superfast wireless broadband access in the future.

Line rental is about £18 per month from BT.
If you are prepared to get your broadband from elsewhere, £21 per month gets you line rental plus anytime unlimited calls to geographic numbers starting 01 and 02 and non-geographic numbers starting 03, half-price (6p per minute instead of 12p per minute) calls to mobile numbers starting 071 to 075 and 077 to 079, caller ID, voicemail 1571, and several other things. The deal also includes calls to 0845 and 0870 numbers.
The package is called Home Phone Saver.0 -

It's true my line rental is £18.99 per month, now known as Line Rental Plus.
It used to be much less as below.
Is there any way to revert this trumped up charge ?0 -
If you stop paying by direct debit they move you onto line rental plus. So start the direct debit again, £17.99 per month.0

What are the "extra features" mentioned on the invoice, and will you lose them when you change to the lower tariff?0

Line Rental Plus gives you Choose to refuse and premium/international call bar but more importantly it increases your service agreement with Openreach meaning you get next day fault repair instead of three working days.
For example: You report a fault on Wednesday, Friday & Monday are bank holidays. Your phone line is repaired next Wednesday. But with Line Rental Plus you're likely to get an appointment for the Thursday and be repaired before the bank holiday.
You also get the ability, provided there are engineers, to book an appointment on a Saturday. Something you won't get with standard repair.0 -

True they were quick but it took more than 3 days to fix.
I could wait a couple of days extra for the difference in charges.
I think the premium call bar is something that should be part of the package for all BT customers.0
