Once the OPs credit records are updated with failure to pay, he will have trouble getting any kind of credit (mobile phone, Utility credit account, current a/c , CC etc)

To reverse the adverse credit listing may take months and months and can be very stressful.

Maybe you have personal experience saying this is easy?

Yes, simple, raise dispute with the CRA, its removed until its corrected, took 3 weeks, two weeks of which nothing was shown on my file,

Another issue wrote to the creditor (which just so happens was the post office) they fixed it within four weeks and gave me £50 compensation

I certainly wouldn't be paying any money I didn't owe

    I agree with Clapton.
When it gets sorted it is going to be much easier to sort out how much they owe you than mistakes on your credit file.
Add in the fact that it was the OP who asked them to transfer this money from his account they may well argue that until the balance transfer is re-credited to his account that he owes them this money and must make the minimum repayments.

Obviously this depends on how much hardship making the minimum payments is causing. If it's leaving you without enough money for food, etc, then that's a different story.

Go to the ombudsman 8 weeks after your initial complaint i.e. When you first complained about the missing money.

If you can afford to, I'd continue paying the minimum plus £1 as they can just sort out the interest etc themselves.

I ditched them several years ago as they are fairly disorganised and they appear on here regularly with issues.

Do this,I got £100 compensation from them as well, closed card after it was spent.
I have a deep burning indifference
